DESCRIPTION: This four day course is designed to assist government agencies, universities, and nonprofit organizations prepare, present, control and have audited, their indirect cost rate proposals.  This overview seminar will review recent efforts to tighten up government agency, university and nonprofit indirect costing.  Participants will also have the opportunity to work with the instructor using questions and examples from their work sites that relate to the content of the course.

OBJECTIVES: Upon successful completion of this course, participants should have a detailed understanding of:
1. Applicable regulations on direct and indirect costs
2. Underlying cost principles
3. Factors affecting allowability
4. Factors affecting direct vs. indirect costs
5. Cost allocation to service centers
6. Establishing indirect cost rate proposals
7. Current issues affecting indirect cost

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:  Financial managers and accounting personnel from government departments and/or agencies, universities, and nonprofit organizations.
