HONOLULU TIER II ITS ARCHITECTURE WORKSHOP

July 31 – August 2, 2001

Workshop Description

The Tier II workshop will begin the development of Oahu’s Regional Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) Architecture. Existing and planned ITS systems and services on Oahu will be identified. By defining the interfaces between the systems and agencies, the architecture will serve as the plan for an integrated ITS on Oahu.

Background Information

The purpose of the Tier I/Tier II Workshops is to begin development of an ITS Architecture for your region. The Tier I Workshop convened key stakeholders to gain their commitment and begin the process. The Tier II Workshop convenes stakeholders to produce a partial draft of a Regional ITS Architecture for the region. This workshop will involve the stakeholders deciding what local transportation systems need to be interconnected to exchange and share information. The resulting architecture draft will require more refinement and the finished product of the stakeholders’ efforts will serve as a blueprint for future ITS deployments.
